Summer publications
Our work has appeared in a number of publications over the last couple of months. Here are a few highlights:
Olympia Oysters – We shot photographs and video for a feature in the June issue of Smithsonian Magazine.
Verve Photo, a blog run by Geoffrey Hiller that’s dedicated to “the new breed of documentary photographers,” featured The First Optometrists on July 5. It’s an honor to join the impressive list of photographers on Geoffrey’s site.
Arctic Voices – Photographer and activist Subhankar Banerjee just published an impressive collection of writings by 39 authors who aim to change how we think about the North. The new book, Arctic Voices: Resistance at the Tipping Point, also features the work of a number of Blue Earth and Seattle photographers, including an image from our Sámi reindeer series.
MediaStorm: Finding Balance for Rio+20 – A couple of my aerial images are included in MediaStorm’s new piece, Finding Balance: Our Future, Our Forests. The film was produced for the United Nations Forum on Forests and premiered at the Rio+20 conference in June.
The Sustainability in Prisons Project in Legacy Magazine – The magazine for the National Association of Interpretation ran a six-page feature on the Sustainability in Prisons Project using my imagery from 2009.

TEAM Network in BioScience – An image shot for Conservation International’s TEAM Network is on the cover of the July issue of BioScience.
