UW College of the Environment Faculty Directory

The University of Washington’s College of the Environment is an unrivaled constellation of environmental research, education and application. It brings disciplines such as fishery, forest and atmospheric sciences together at the nexus of environmental problem solving. For prospective students interested in interdisciplinary topics like climate change, conservation or social sciences, cutting across academic silos is increasingly important.

Together with our friend and frequent collaborator, Darin Reid, we helped the College envision and build an interactive directory that profiles over 200 faculty members. A searchable, sortable grid of faces displays faculty working on any of 13 cross-disciplinary research themes. To make this directory effective we needed unified portraits. 200 of them. And we have returned every year since 2013 to create more. The website and directory earned a Gold Award from the Case District VIII Communication Awards.
