Little Star Builds

Play film

Little Star Montessori School has empowered Benj and I to work as filmmakers in the Methow Valley, while Finn is in the full embrace of curiosity, fun and community. I joined the board because we are so grateful for that opportunity, but a recent community needs assessment found that, at best, 50 percent of children have access to childcare and preschool in the Methow. Little Star has waitlists for every program and there is no licensed infant care in our valley at all.

We just finished a film to help publicly launch the Little Star Builds campaign. “This really is a pivotal moment for Little Star,” says the school’s executive director, Dani Reynaud, “where we get to move from being a small school to a cause, and participate in a community-wide solution for early learning and childcare.” The Little Star Builds Campaign has four components: grow in Winthrop, launch a new campus in Twisp, create a long-term scholarship fund and expand community partnerships.

Visit littlestarschool.org to help build a place for all Methow Valley children.
