Happy Holidays!

As 2008 comes to a close we want to take a moment to thank all of you who have helped us collect and share stories over this past year. It’s been a tremendous 12 months: from our award at the Orion / PhotoAlliance review and subsequent feature in the magazine, to “From Reindeer to Rainier” at REI, and exhibitions at Seattle City Hall and the Kent Centennial Gallery, not to mention the amazing access we gained with wildland fire crews last summer and Blue Earth’s direct grant this fall. Facing Climate Change continues to grow and evolve beyond our wildest expectations, and we are grateful for the tremendous support we’ve received from so many.

With new leadership in Washington D.C., the freeze on national climate legislation could begin to thaw, and we’re very excited about what’s ahead. We will continue our work to tell the climate change story at a local level, both in the American West and beyond. More than ever, we believe these are the stories society needs to know. We have to learn them from each other, see them in the news, make art about them and discuss them in our schools. After all, people cause, face the consequences of, and must collectively stop this climate crisis. But to mobilize a global effort we must generate local will.

We need your support to both collect and distribute our work. Please consider making Facing Climate Change part of your year-end giving. All donations are tax-deductible through Blue Earth. You can donate online or call Bart at 206-725-4913.
